Mongoose, our official equipment sponsor, is one of America's most innovative bike companies.

From the first product - cast-magnesium MotoMag wheels to the current crop of BMX, Mountain and pavement bikes, Mongoose is synonymous with bicycle performance.

28 years young, Mongoose builds for riders: their bikes don't just push the limits. They set new ones.

The team will be riding Mongoose's 27 speed Meteore Comp from the 2006 Hardtail Series. For full specs or to purchase a Mongoose bike, please visit their website here.

The Ride for Green Team will be led by Martin Dunphy, an experienced Tibet cyclist. The team will begin in the Tibetan border area of Lijiang, beneath Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. From there they will pedal to legendary Shangri-La (Zhongdian), home to one of Tibet’s best-preserved Old Cities, then on up into to sprawling high grasslands above the tree-line.

After crossing six sky-scraping mountain passes, the team will reach Litang in the midst of its annual International Horse Festival, the largest and most famous traditional grasslands festival in Tibet. Four more days and four more grueling passes later, then team will finally arrive in Kangding, the gateway to inland China. In total, the team will cross ten passes, with five over 4000m - the highest peak a dizzying 4405m above sea level.
