Kham Aid's first bicycle fundraiser was in 2001 when five cyclists completed a marathon 593 km ride on the Tibetan plateau. The goal of the ride was to highlight the need for international aid to improve medical care in this impoverished area of western China.

The ride was organized in partnership with International SOS and raised nearly US$50,000 for medical aid and supplies for rural clinics, in cash, training, and in-kind donations .

Three years later in 2004, cycle team member Martin Dunphy organized another fundraiser in cooperation with Warren Dedrick, Chairman of Marlin Holdings. The two planned a high profile climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise funds for greenhouses at rural schools in Western Sichuan. In total, the Kilimanjaro climb raised over $15,000, enough to build greenhouses at Sershul Middle School and Chengguan Boarding Primary School.

The 2006 Ride For Green sees the return of Martin Dunphy along with original cycle team members David Oliver and James Law and Kilimanjaro team member Patricia Frustace. Togther with newcomers Nicholas Pope and Joanna Wong, the team hopes to raise funds to build 5 greenhouses at local primary schools to feed 2,000 children over a 10 year period.
